3. Certification obtained at three overseas Missionary Headquarters
In our Movement Policy for the fiscal year 2000, we decided to introduce an environmental management system (EMS) following the “ISO 14001” standard. On October 11, 2000, we established the “Seicho-No-Ie Environmental Policy.” Based on this policy, two of Seicho-No-Ie’s facilities – its headquarters and Main Temple – began efforts to implement the EMS. On July 19, 2001, Seicho-No-Ie became the first religious organization in the world to receive certification for integrating its religious activities with environmental efforts.
