No-Meat, Low-Carbon Dietary Life
This lifestyle involves actively incorporating meat-free meals and prioritizing locally produced seasonal ingredients to reduce food mileage and support local farmers and fisheries when choosing ingredients.
Food mileage refers to the fuel used and the carbon dioxide emissions required to transport the food from the farm to the place it is consumed. We also encourage a lifestyle that fosters an appreciation for nature’s beauty by experiencing activities such as gardening and tree planting. In this way, we are striving to reduce environmental impact of our own diets and contribute to the conservation of our ecosystem.
The SNI Organic Vegetable Gardening Club is part of the Project-Based System that takes concrete steps towards this effort.
