25th Youth Spiritual Training Seminar held in the Republic of Korea

Study of Means to Realize One's Dream

The 25th Republic of Korea Youth Spiritual Training Seminar was held from August 13 to 15 in the Republic of Korea. Seventy-eight elementary, junior and senior high school students participated.

Rev. Shuichi Odaira (Ordained Minister, Vice Chief of the Youth and Young Adult Association) was dispatched from the International Headquarters. He provided guidance together with Rev. Jeong Hee Kim, (Assistant Minister, Chairman of Kwang Myong Hoy) and Rev. Jeong Ho Kim (Assistant Minister, Vice Chairman of Kwang Myong Hoy).

The objective of the Seminar was to help all participants, through the study of Seicho-No-Ie teachings, (1) to live each day while sustaining a dream, and (2) to study the means with which to bring out their infinite ability and realize their dreams.

The Seminar program also included lectures, an outdoor workshop entitled “Challenge, Infinite Power Contest” (athletic meet), practice of Shinsokan, and Mind Purification Ceremony. For the sake of gaining a deeper understanding of the teachings, a workshop was held after each lecture to provide an opportunity to practice the content of the lecture.

Rev. Odaira gave five lectures, including a closing lecture, as well as the workshops after them. In his lecture, “The Law of the Mind and the Power of Words to Materialize Your Dream,” he explained that it is important to draw a mental picture in a specific way that one’s hope and dream have already materialized and express that with words. During the workshop that followed it, the participants created a “Dream Newspaper,” comprised of an article and picture about their future when their dreams have materialized and showed it to one another.

Comments received from the participants included: “I enjoyed making a “Dream Newspaper”; and “I gained great hope from the study of the actual means to realize a dream.”

Rev. Odaira commented, “It was impressive that the participants were full of energy during the workshop to draw a specific dream. Holding the Spiritual Training Seminar year after year is helping the management committee members to improve their religious attitude. I believe that it is important to steadily spread the correct faith in the future.”

REMARKS BY REV. JEONG HEE KIM, CHAIRMAN OF KWANG MYONG HOY

“Thanks to Rev. Odaira’s guidance, we included the workshops. The participants took great interest in each workshop and participated voluntarily. The committee members, who attended July’s “Workshop for Young Leaders,” managed the Seminar with great devotion and impressed the participants.”
