The 22nd-Year Memorial Service for Rev. Masaharu Taniguchi was solemnly held on June 17 at the Taniguchi Family Monument in the Seicho-No-Ie Main Temple in Nagasaki Prefecture. The rain from the early morning stopped when the Service began at 10:00. At the end of the Service Rev. Masanobu Taniguchi, Vice President of Seicho-No-Ie, addressed about 900 attendees.
On April 1 the United States Missionary Headquarters signed a contract with Three Phases Energy Service Inc. headquartered in California to purchase green electricity in order to bring down to zero the carbon emissions from the electricity used at the Headquarters building.
In Brazil, the 51st Brazil Hozo Shrine Festival was held from April 14 to 15 at the Brazil Hozo Shrine in Ibiuna, Sao Paulo and was attended by a total of 19,588 people.
Last November, Seicho-No-Ie Brazil Historical Museum was opened on the premise of the South American Spiritual Training Center in Ibiuna, Sao Paulo. Over a six-month period it was visited by over 4,000 followers.
