In Canada, Leaders’ Workshops (English), a Truth Study Classes (Japanese), and one-day Truth Realization Seminars (English) were held in Vancouver and Toronto from the end of October to the beginning of November of last year.

The lecturers were Rev. Tomio Otsuka (Ordained Minister, United States Missionary Headquarters) and Rev. Toshiro Kobayashi (Ordained Minister, Chief of Toronto Missionary Area) in Vancouver; and Rev. Toshiro Kobayashi and Rev. Bruce Mallery (Ordained Minister, Chief of New York Missionary Area) in Toronto.

At the Leaders’ Workshop Rev. Otsuka gave two lectures, including “Love That Gives, a Life That Shines with Joy of Giving,” using as his texts the Messages of Wisdom and Love by Rev. Seicho Taniguchi, and other publications. He explained the “Sundial Way of Life” and the practice of the “Four Immeasurable Minds” and later led the practice of “Shinsokan Meditation upon the Four Immeasurable Minds.”

In the Toronto area, a Leaders’ Workshop was held at the Seicho-No-Ie Toronto Center on November 5 (9 attendees) and a one-day Truth Realization Seminar on November 6 (30 attendees). The total number of attendees was 39.

At the Leaders’ Workshop Rev. Mallery gave two lectures, including “In Order to Grow with Nature,” using Seimei no Jisso (Truth of Life), Vol. 1 by Rev. Masaharu Taniguchi. He talked about the coexistence of nature and human beings as well as other topics based on last July’s Seicho-No-Ie Special Conference for World Peace held in Germany. He also led the practice of Shinsokan Meditation upon the Four Immeasurable Minds.

The Chief of Toronto Missionary Area, Rev. Kobayashi, remarked, “Thanks to the earnest guidance of both lecturers, the leaders and members in Canada could sense the joy of faith and renew their enthusiasm for propagation. I would like to work hard to enliven mutual communications among the members on a day-to-day basis and develop successors and Regional Lecturers.”
