On July 10 to 11 the 2010 Seicho-No-Ie Special Conference was held at the Seicho-No-Ie Headquarters in Harajuku, Tokyo under the guidance of Rev. Masanobu Taniguchi, President of Seicho-No-Ie, and Mrs. Junko Taniguchi, President of Seicho-No-Ie White Dove Association. The Conference was held for Ordained Ministers/Assistant Ministers in Japan, the Republic of China and the Republic of Korea and was attended by 236 people. This was the sixth Special Conference held in Japan. The previous one was held in 2008.
Mrs. Junko Taniguchi, President of Seicho-No-Ie White Dove Association, lectured for about 30 minutes from 3:30 p.m. on the first day of the Special Conference (July 10)Rev. Taniguchi began her lecture by saying that she would like to share with the attendees her current understanding about the Headquarters’ plan to “move to the Forest.”
“Learning from the Natural View of Major World Monotheistic Religions (Judaism, Christianity, Islam) Rev. Akinori Tanaka, Ordained Minister (Propagation Planning Department, Planning and Research Office) Rev. Tanaka introduced the natural view of Judaism, Christianity and Islam and stressed that their view is to respect nature. He made clear that monotheistic religions are not necessarily the cause of environmental destruction and explored the thought that is necessary in order to solve today’s environmental problem.
The Eighth Leadership Training Seminar was held from May 21 to 23 at the Westin Los Angeles Airport Hotel in Los Angeles and was attended by 45 leaders from across North America. The Leadership Training Seminar is held with the objective of developing leaders under the sponsorship of the International Spiritual Training Center.
A Seicho-No-Ie Toronto One-Day Truth Realization Seminar was held on May 2 at the Secho-No-Ie Toronto Center in Ontario, Canada. The number of attendees was 25. According to the Toronto Missionary Area, which sponsored it, several anniversary celebrations were held in the last two years: two years ago, the 10th anniversary commemorating the completion of the Toronto Center Building, and last year, the 35th Vancouver Center Dedication Anniversary.
In Brazil, the 54th Brazil Hozo Shrine Festival and the 26th Memorial Service for the Neglected Souls of Aborted Children were held from April 3 to 4 at the Brazil Hozo Shrine in Ibiuna, Sao Paulo. The number of soul registers installed was 2,651,525. The number of people who attended the Festival was 16,121.
In Brazil, a Divinity Development Lecturers/Enlightenment Leaders Devotional Labor Spiritual Training Seminar was held at five spiritual training centers from June 3 to 6. The number of participants was 1,341, which was an increase of 85 percent from the previous time. The breakdown of participants by spiritual training center was 729 for the South American Spiritual Training Center,
Last August, the Brazil Youth and Young Adult Association sold Eco-bags in commemoration of the Seicho-No-Ie Brazil National Convention (held in Sao Paulo), which was guided by Rev. and Mrs. Masanobu Taniguchi.
