Brazil---Rev. & Mrs. Masanobu Taniguchi Guide the SNI Special Conference for World Peace

The 2009 Seicho-No-Ie Special Conference for World Peace guided by Rev. Masanobu Taniguchi, President of Seicho-No-Ie, and Mrs. Junko Taniguchi, President of Seicho-No-Ie White Dove Association, was held from August 1 to 2 at the Funchal Theater in Sao Paulo, Brazil. This was the first Special Conference held in Brazil in three years after the 2006 Special Conference.

Brazil---Rev. & Mrs. Masanobu Taniguchi's Lecture Tour

As a part of Rev. and Mrs. Masanobu Taniguchi’s Lecture Tour to Brazil, a Seicho-No-Ie Public Lecture was held on August 4 at the Convention Center in Belem in the State of Para on the Amazon in the North. The theme of the Public Lecture was “I Record None But the Hours of Sunshine.” Rev. and Mrs. Taniguchi both gave lectures. The number of attendees was 1,048 people. They were from the Belem Missionary Branch and other groups.

Amazon---Commemorative Tree Planting

On August 3, Rev. and Mrs. Masanobu Taniguchi left Sao Paulo, where the Special Conference for World Peace was held, and went to Belem in the State of Para in the North to lecture at Public Lecture. Belem, located about 160 km from the equator, has a tropical climate with high temperature and humidity.

On August 8, the Seicho-No-Ie Brazil National Convention was held at the Transamerica Expo Center in Sao Paulo. The theme of the Convention was “I Record None But Hours of Sunshine.” The number of attendees was 6,172.

On August 19, the Hozo Shrine Main Festival, the Seirei Shokon Shrine Festival, the Memorial Tower for Neglected Souls of Aborted Children Throughout Japan Festival and the Suekazu Inari Shrine Festival were held.

In Australia, a Seicho-No-Ie Readers Meeting (English) was held at the Vibe North Sydney Hotel in Sydney on July 19. The number of attendees was 10, including 4 newcomers—7 Japanese, 2 Chinese and 1 Australian.

Republic of China---World's Eco-Life

In Taiwan, you see farmers who own a reservoir as large as 500 tons on their own farms. Mr. Liao Jun Zhao, Vice Chief of the Brotherhood Association, Taizhuang Missionary Branch, is one of them. He says he has no worry about water shortage even in times of drought and his oranges and bananas grow well.
