In the Seicho-No-Ie 2000 Movement Policy, the ISO14001, the Environmental Management System was set forth and the Seicho-No-Ie Environmental Policy was established. Based on these, Seicho-No-Ie started to introduce ISO14001 at two offices (International Headquarters Office and Seicho-No-Ie Main Temple) and acquired certification on July 19, 2001 as the first religious organization in Japan to do so.

From the following year, 10 offices, 6 offices, 13 offices, 8 offices, 14 offices and 13 offices successively acquired ISO14001 certification. In seven years (on July 19, 2007) total of 66 offices (including 2 affiliated organizations) have acquired ISO14001 certification. After the fiscal year 2007, Seicho-No-Ie will continue to actively work on environmental conservation activities at our 66 offices and aim for improvement of the system quality.
