Solar Power
Seicho-No-Ie is promoting renewable energy expansion.
How can renewable energy generation
contribute to reducing CO2 emissions?
Many modern power companies generate electricity by burning large quantities of fossil fuel such as oil, coal, and natural gas, which releases a significant amount of CO2. However, solar and wind power generation do not involve the combustion of fossil fuels, and therefore produce no CO2 emissions. By switching from fossil fuels to renewable energy sources for electricity generation, the corresponding amount of CO2 emissions can be reduced.
About the movement to expand renewable energy.
The movement to expand renewable energy is an initiative by environmentally conscious people around the world to promote sustainable, green energy that is friendly to both people and the environment. Through your donations we will build power plants that utilize renewable energy sources and use the profits and further donations to expand the renewable energy movement nationwide, aiming for environmentally friendly power generation.
About the Fukushima-Saigo
Solar Power Generating System
To avoid deforestation, we acquired abandoned farmland and installed the Seicho-No-Ie Fukushima Saigo Solar Power Plant, the second such facility for Seicho-No-Ie. It began operation on December 24, 2015.
Location: Babasaka Odakura, Nishigo, Nishishirakawa District, Fukushima 427-1,2 (Site area: 39,692 m2)
Power generation capacity: Solar panel capacity 771kW (3,024 255W panels)
Power generated in fiscal year 2021: 860,983 kWh
CO2 emissions reduced in fiscal year 2021: 449,433 (kg-CO2/kWh)

About the Seicho-No-Ie Kyoto Jouyou
Mega Solar Power Plant
The site of Seicho-no-Ie’s first large-scale power plant, the Seicho-no-Ie Kyoto Jouyou Mega Solar Plant is located on land reclaimed from a former quarry, meaning that no forest development was necessary. Furthermore, its elevated location provides an unobstructed view, allowing for ample space to install solar panels. It started operating on March 3, 2015.
Location: Okuyama Kuse, Joyo, Kyoto 3-2 (Site area 36,140 m2)
Power generation capacity: Solar panel capacity 1704.5 kW (6,412 panels of 266W)
Power generated in fiscal year 2021: 1,961,198kWh
CO2 emissions reduced in fiscal year 2021: 623,660 (kg-CO2/kWh)

Seicho-No-Ie aims to eliminate nuclear
Nuclear power generation produces radiation that poses a danger to life on Earth, including humans, even after power generation ceases, it leaves behind radioactive waste that must be managed for approximately 100,000 years. We believe it is necessary to increase the use of renewable energy sources so that future generations can sustainably use safe energy. We would like to express our sincere gratitude to everyone who contributed to the fundraising campaign for expanding renewable energy.
