Leader’s Workshop and Public Lecture in Northern California

Theme of Study Includes Sundial Way of Life and Man’s Coexistence with Nature

At the Seicho-No-Ie Northern California Center, a Leaders' Workshop of the Northern California Missionary Area was held on October 27 and a public lecture on October 28. A total of about 100 people attended these events.

The lecturers included Rev. Yoshiko Teshigawara (Ordained Minister, Bishop of Seicho-No-Ie United States Missionary Headquarters), and Rev. Masayo Tsuruta (Ordained Minister, Chief of Northern California Missionary Area). Used as texts were Seimei no Jisso (Truth of Life), Vol. 1 by Rev. Masaharu Taniguchi, Jisedai eno Ketsudan (Decision for the Next Generation) by Rev. Masanobu Taniguchi, and other publications.

The Workshop held on October 27 was based on the content of the Seicho-No-Ie Special Conference for World Peace held in Germany two years ago. Rev. Tsuruta explained the content of the Special Conference. Rev. Teshigawara gave two lectures, including the closing lecture. She explained that the leaders should take the lead in expressing the joy of living on earth. She also asked the attendees to promote the "Movement that Grows with Nature" even more vigorously. There was a group discussion, where the attendees discussed future activities on four themes, one by one, including "Development of Youth" and "Environmental Measures."

The theme of the public lecture was "Realize Your Dream Now! - the Sundial Way of Life." Rev. Teshigawara explained that the Sundial Way of Life is truly the guidepost to happiness. She introduced Shinsokan in an easy-to-understand manner and encouraged its practice.

Comments from the attendees of the public lecture included: "I was able to understand the wonderful capability of the mind."

Remarks by Rev. Yoshiko Teshigawara, Bishop of Seicho-No-Ie United States Missionary Headquarters

"Both events were filled with a bright and warm atmosphere. At the Leaders' Workshop, the leaders who attended the Special Conference two years ago shared their experiences in Germany with others and helped enliven the Workshop. During the group discussion, there was an exchange of opinions about the method of propagation, with the New Year’s movement policy in mind. Many concrete ideas were voiced. The leaders felt and realized the "blessing of normalcy." The Workshop was filled with their enthusiasm for propagation. I hope that the Movement in northern California will grow further in the future."
