Study Includes the Significant of the Holy Mission Fellowship

In Hong Kong, Readers’ Meetings were held for four days from May 10 to 13 at the Taizi Commercial Building on Kowloon. The number of attendees totaled 39, including one newcomer.

Rev. Chen Bor Horhorng (Ordained Minister, Republic of China Missionary Headquarters), who can guide directly in Chinese, was dispatched from the International Headquarters as a lecturer. Using as his texts Shinsokan wa Subarashii (Shinsokan Is Wonderful) by Rev. Seicho Taniguchi and other publications, Rev. Chen provided guidance every day. On May 13, his last day in Hong Kong, he guided the Readers’ Meeting in the morning and the Youth Readers’ Meeting in the afternoon.

On May 10, with the newcomer in mind, Rev. Chen gave a lecture entitled, “What You Recognize Will Emerge.” He explained Seicho-No-Ie’s basic teachings in an easy-to-understand manner: Only God-Created perfect world exists, All phenomena are manifestations of only mind, and all religions emanate from one universal God. In his lecture on May 11, “Shinsokan Is Wonderful,” he explained Shinsokan and led a practice of it. On May 12, he gave a lecture, “The Holy Mission Fellowship Is Wonderful” and explained the significance of the Holy Mission Fellowship. He also explained the Holy Mission Fellowship Gratitude Ceremony and led a practice of it, so that the followers in Hong Kong can conduct it themselves.

On May 13, there was a practice of Shinsokan and the reading of the Holy Sutra from 9:00 a.m. Rev. Chen then gave a lecture, “The True Image and the Phenomenal World.” In the afternoon he guided the Youth Readers’ Meeting on the theme, “The True Meaning of Man Is a Child of God and Has Infinite Ability.” He introduced a story of a Taiwanese college student who passed an examination with a good score by deepening the awareness that man is a child of God and stressed the importance of religious faith.

The attendees’ comments included: “I was able to understand that the Holy Mission Fellowship is a precious system to get connected to God.”

Rev. Chen commented, “At the Readers’ Meetings, I tried to use my lectures to guide. I also stressed the religious practices to help the followers in Hong Kong deepen their faith. The attendees were all excellent students. Some of them even attended every day. There was a first-timer, who had a serious problem with her daughter. She looked depressed when she came, but when she left, she had a bright smile. I realized anew the wonderfulness of the teaching again. In the future, I would like to focus on the practice of love toward others such as praying for other people.”
