Leaders’ Workshop Held in Hong Kong

Study of the Significance of Holding Readers’ Meetings

In Hong Kong, a Leaders’ Workshop was held on March 18, at the Sino Centre Building in the morning and the Taizi Commercial Building in the afternoon on the island of Kowloon. Ten leaders living in the area studied the Truth.

From the International Headquarters Rev. Akiko Minamoto (Assistant Minister, Asia, Europe and Oceania Section, International Department) was dispatched as a lecturer. Rev. Suguru Saiki (Assistant Minister, same section), who has a Chinese language capability, accompanied her as an interpreter.

In Hong Kong, thanks to the continuous dispatch from 2009 of Rev. Mamoru Amachi (Assistant Minister), who can guide directly in Chinese, the number of Readers’ Meeting sites increased from one to seven and the propagation base is being established.

The Leaders’ Workshop is held once every year. This year’s Workshop was held with the objective of deepening the attendees’ awareness as leaders and building a common awareness about the International Headquarters’ Movement Policy.

Using Shinko ni yoru Heiwa no Michi (Realizing Peace by Faith) by Rev. Masanobu Taniguchi and other publications as her texts, Rev. Minamoto gave three lectures, including “Let’s Hold a Joyous Readers’ Meeting.” She explained the significance and mission of holding Readers’ Meetings and the significance of the “Movement that Grows with Nature.”

Comments from the attendees included: “I am from the mainland China (People’s Republic of China). I believe that this teaching is most needed there now. I hope that you will propagate the teaching in the mainland China as well”; and “Rev. Minamoto’s lectures made me realize that the mundane nature of the Readers’ Meetings is the question of my mental state. I would like to deepen my faith and increase the attendees.”

Since Rev. Minamoto can guide directly in English, an English Readers’ Meeting and a Youth Readers’ Meeting were held. Rev. Minamoto encouraged the regular holding of Readers’ Meetings.

Remarks by Rev. Akiko Minamoto, Assistant Minister

“Many of the followers in Hong Kong are cheerful, genuine and enthusiastic. I was impressed. I hope that this Seminar will help improve the Readers’ Meetings and spread the teachings.”
