A New Readers’ Meeting Site Started in Hong Kong

Readers’ Meeting Held at Six Sites

Readers’ Meetings were held at six sites in Hong Kong from October 14 to 19 of last year. From the International Headquarters Rev. Mamoru Amachi (Assistant Minister; Asia, Europe and Oceania Section, International Department), who can guide in Japanese and Chinese, was dispatched as a lecturer.

In Hong Kong, Readers’ Meetings are currently held regularly at seven sites once or twice a month. (Five Chinese Readers’ Meetings, one each of English and Japanese Readers’ Meeting). Rev. Amachi went around six of these sites and provided guidance. The number of attendees totaled 41 (nine newcomers). The text used included Nyoi Jizai no Seikatsu 365-Sho (365 Golden Keys to a Completely Free Life) and Seimei no Kyoiku (Education of Life) by Rev. Masaharu Taniguchi.

At each site, the lectures were based on three themes: “I, As the Extension of the Creator God,” “The Way to Build Heaven on Earth,” and “To Develop the Child’s Talent Through the Sundial Way of Life.” Rev. Amachi explained that it is important that one visualizes himself as spiritual life and that one draws out the child’s infinite ability by recognizing and praising his divinity.

The Readers’ Meeting (Chinese) held on October 14 was attended by six people, including one newcomer. For the female first-time attendee, Rev. Amachi first explained the fundamental teaching of Seicho-No-Ie. She commented, “I wish I had known Seicho-No-Ie sooner.” She became a Holy Mission Fellowship member right away.

The Readers’ Meeting (Chinese) of October 15 was launched by a follower who became a Seicho-No-Ie believer last year after participating in the March Hong Kong and the Republic of China Joint One-Day Truth Realization Seminar. This was the first meeting and had twelve attendees, including five newcomers.

This time, apart from the Readers’ Meetings, Ancestor Memorial Service and Holy Mission Fellowship Gratitude Ceremony were held. Prior to the programs Rev. Amachi handed out the material for these ceremonies and guided local followers to continue to hold them on their own.

Rev. Amachi remarked: “The first-timers also listened to the lectures earnestly. They commented that they wanted to apply the teachings in their daily life. There is a possibility that among these newcomers someone will start a new Readers’ Meeting site. I would like to cherish each individual and continue to provide support so that the local leaders can continue to hold Readers’ Meetings.”
