Brazil’s Devotional Labor Spiritual Training Seminar Draws 1,496 People

Held during the Rio Carnival

In Brazil, a Devotional Labor Spiritual Training Seminar (four nights and five days) was held at five Spiritual Training centers from March 4 to 8. The number of participants totaled 1,496, which was an increase of 228 over last year.

The number of participants by seminar site: 800 for the South American Spiritual Training Center, 209 for the Santa Tecla Spiritual Training Center, 178 for the Santa Fe Spiritual Training Center, 242 for the Curituba Spiritual Training Center, and 67 for the Amazonia Spiritual Training Center.

This Seminar is held during the Rio Carnival. At each Spiritual Training Center, the Seminar program was centered on devotional labor and also included lectures, Mind Purification Ceremony, and Ancestor Memorial Service.

At the South American Spiritual Training Center in Ibiuna, Sao Paulo, which had more than half the participants, the Seminar was guided by Rev. Yoshio Mukai (Ordained Minister, Bishop of Seicho-No-Ie Latin America), Rev. Marie Murakami (Ordained Minister, Chairperson of Brazil Missionary Headquarters), an Assistant Minister, and five Regional Lecturers.

Rev. Murakami guided “What Is Seicho-No-Ie’s Shinsokan?,” and explained that Shinsokan is spiritual food for each day and also the foundation of the Humanity Enlightenment Movement.

Comments received from the participants included: “At the Seminar I was able to share my life with dear brothers and sisters whom I met. They gave me hearty welcome and spoke to me with loving words. I was deeply grateful.”

Remarks by Rev. Yoshio Mukai, Bishop of Seicho-No-Ie Latin America

“Despite the fact that this Spiritual Training Seminar is held during the Carnival, the number of participants is increasing every year. Making good use of the Rio Carnival holidays and studying the Truth with all family members at the Seminar helps harmonize the family life and build a foundation for the children’s future study.”
