One Chinese-Language Readers’ Meeting Newly Started

Study Includes the Sundial Way of Life

In Hong Kong, Readers’ Meetings were held from December 14 to 19 of last year at seven sites, including members’ homes on the Kowloon Peninsula. The number of attendees totaled 47, including 10 newcomers.

In Hong Kong, there was only one Readers’ Meeting site until 2009. Four Meeting sites were launched by March of last year, making the total site number five (four Chinese-language Readers’ Meetings, one Japanese-language Readers’ Meeting). Four of them hold Readers’ Meetings twice a month. In addition, a new Chinese-language Readers’ Meeting site was born. The Movement shows steady growth in Hong Kong.

Rev. Mamoru Amachi (Ordained Minister, Asia, Europe and Oceania Section, International Department) was dispatched from the International Headquarters. He provided guidance in Chinese and Japanese, using, as his texts, Seimei no Jisso (Truth of Life), Vol. 1 by Rev. Masaharu Taniguchi, Hidokeishugi towa Nani ka (What Is the Sundial Way of Life?) by Rev. Masanobu Taniguchi, and other publications.

Rev. Amachi guided five Chinese-language Readers’ Meetings, a Japanese-language Readers’ Meeting and Sunday Readers’ Meeting (Chinese and Japanese).

At the Chinese-language and Japanese-language Readers Meetings held from December 14 to 18, Rev. Amachi lectured on the themes, “Sundial Way of Life” and “On Prayer” and explained the True Image and the phenomenal world. He stressed the importance of the Sundial Way of Life that appreciates everything that has already been accorded and expresses joy.

The Sunday Readers’ Meeting was held on December 19 on the theme, “Declaration that Man Is Sinless.” Rev. Amachi explained that man is originally sinless and that the awareness of man being a child of God leads to sin’s disappearance, while mixing in his own experiences.

There were also a Q&A period and practice of Shinsokan. The attendees also practiced how to write about joy in a diary from the standpoint of the Sundial Way of Life.

A newcomer commented, “I would like to recognize my child’s good points and praise him.”

Rev. Amachi remarked, “I believe that the members’ propagation activities and the fact that Readers’ Meetings are held every month contribute to increasing newcomers. I would like to provide support for the upcoming Hong Kong/Republic of China Joint One-Day Truth Realization Seminar, which is scheduled to be held in March, and I hope that Readers’ Meetings will be even more energized.”
