Study of the Meaning and Practice of Four Immeasurable Minds in Canada

Events held in Vancouver and Toronto

From the latter half of October to the first half of November 2010, Leaders’ Workshops (English), Truth Study Class (Japanese) and One-Day Truth Realization Seminars (English) were held in the Vancouver District and the Toronto Missionary Area. The number of attendees totaled 98.

In Vancouver, Rev. Mario Kawakami (Ordained Minister, Vice Bishop of the United States Missionary Headquarters, Chief of Southern California Missionary Area) and Rev. Toshiro Kobayashi (Ordained Minister, Chief of Toronto Missionary Area) provided guidance. In Toronto, Rev. Kobayashi and Rev. Bruce Mallery (Ordained Minister, Chief of New York Missionary Area) provided guidance.

n Vancouver, a Leaders’ Workshop (14 attendees) was held on October 23, 2010 at the Seicho-No-Ie Vancouver Center and on the evening of the same day a Truth Study Class (19 attendees) was held. On the following day (October 24) a One-Day Truth Realization Seminar (26 attendees) was held. The number of attendees at these events totaled 59.

At the Leaders’ Workshop, Rev. Kawakami gave two lectures, using as his texts Mori no Naka e Iku (We Will Move to the Forest, co-authored by Rev. Masanobu Taniguchi and Mrs. Junko Taniguchi). He explained the significance and practice of the Zero Carbon Movement and Four Immeasurable Minds.

In Toronto, at the Toronto Center, a Leaders’ Workshop (10 attendees) was held on November 6. On the following day (November 7) a One-day Truth Realization Seminar (29 attendees) was held. The number of attendees at these events totaled 39.

At the Leaders’ Workshop, Rev. Bruce Mallery gave two lectures, using Shinko ni yoru Heiwa no Michi (Realizing Peace by Faith) by Rev. Masanobu Taniguchi and other publications as his texts. He explained the meaning and practice of Four Immeasurable Minds and significance of the International Peace by Faith Movement.

Rev. Kobayashi remarked, “Thanks to the earnest guidance of Reverends Kawakami and Mallery, the attendees gained a deeper understanding of the practice of the Sundial Way of Life and the meaning and practice of the Four Immeasurable Minds and became more enthusiastic. From now on I would like to energize the communications between leaders and members on a more regular basis and increase the Holy Mission Fellowship members and monthly magazine subscriptions, work hard at deeds of love and carry forward the Movement.”
