On November 27, 2010, a Seicho-No-Ie Brazil choir concert was held in the auditorium of the Brazil Missionary Headquarters. Five hundred and ninety-five people gathered. Fifteen choir groups from Missionary Areas across the country participated and sang Seicho-No-Ie Holy Songs as well as other songs.

The objective of this concert is to activate cultural activities and propagation through the singing of Seicho-No-Ie Holy Songs and to promote socializing among leaders and members. This was the fourth concert.

After the reading of the Holy Sutra, Nectarean Shower of Holy Doctrines from 1:30 p.m., the Concert began at 2:00 p.m. Rev. Junji Miyaura (Ordained Minister, Vice Chairperson of the Brazil Missionary Headquarters) gave an opening message. Each choir group sang a few Brazilian folk songs in addition to Seicho-No-Ie Holy Songs. After all groups finished their performances, they were presented with a commemorative trophy. Following the closing prayer by Rev. Marie Murakami (Chairperson of the Brazil Missionary Headquarters), all the attendees sang the Seicho-No-Ie Holy Song, Sanshunka (Song in Praise of Spring). The Concert ended at 7:00 p.m.

At the previous concert, a request was made that the attendees donate food stuffs. This time, there was a donation of a total of 400kg non-perishable foods, including rice, Feijao beans and pasta, which will be given to poor families through a welfare organization in Sao Paulo.

Comments received from the participants included: “This was the fourth time that I had participated. While I was standing on the stage, I felt as if I was receiving great light from all the audience”; and “I would like to encourage young people to join a Seicho-No-Ie choir. When you sing, your heart brightens and you can live a life full of blessings.”

Remarks by Rev. Marie Murakami, Chairperson of Brazil Missionary Headquarters

“The choirs are improving their singing technique year by year. If we make songs with good words and sing them, the universe will be even more purified.”
