POSTINGJOY: SNS Site to Post Joyous News

English and Portuguese Versions of POSTINGJOY Launched as the Base for Promoting the Sundial Way of Life

As of October 5, English and Portuguese versions have been newly added to the postingjoy, a SNS which Seicho-No-Ie manages on the Internet for posting joyous messages. Also, new functions have been added to the Japanese version. This makes the site more enjoyable, convenient and global.

This is expected to help expand, in the entire world, the Sundial Way of Life that sees and expresses only the bright side of things.

Postingjoy is Seicho-No-Ie’s own SNS site (SNS: Social Networking Service, a system which facilitates communications among registered members).

The circle of friends is expanding who post joyous news from their daily lives as well as artistic works based on the Sundial Way of Life and praise one another and share their upliftment. The number of registered members on the Japanese version is 1,784 (as of October 24).

The site is divided into different segments: “Joy,” “Map,” “Community,” “Magazine,” and “Member.” The “Joy” segment is for posting joyous articles and pictures. The “Community” segment is divided into 15 categories, including “Music,” “Picture Letters/Picture Envelopes,” “No-meat Cooking,” “Haiku (17-syllable Japanese poem), Tanka (31-syllable Japanese poem), and “Pictures.” It facilitates posting members’ comments about their hobbies and topics of interest as well as their artistic works.

This renewal features three points: (1) addition of English and Portuguese versions, (2) addition of a new function, and (3) design renewal.

As for (1) above, the English version (eng.postingjoy.com) and Portuguese version (port.postingjoy.com) are the same as the Japanese version in content and design (one exception: the “Community” segment will start with only five categories.)

Members can view and post articles and comments in all of the three sites, regardless of the language they register in. Even without the language ability for English or Portuguese, members can get an overall understanding of the posted comments by using the translation service.

The number of registered members since the launch of the English and Portuguese versions is 27 for the English version and 288 for the Portuguese version (as of October 24).

As for (2) above, a new function called “Good Button” has been added, which is an evaluation function. If one finds the posted comment interesting or moving, he clicks the Good Button once, which gives the comment “1 Good” point. The number of “Good Points” shows the members’ evaluation.

Another new function is “clip” function. One can save the comment he likes on his own page (i.e., clip) for viewing at a later time.

Also, on the interface with twitter (simple blog accommodating less than 140 words), the number of letters shown in the title column has been increased.

As for (3) above, for the Japanese, English and Portuguese versions, five top ranking articles in the number of Access and Clip are shown. With the simplification of the necessary operational steps, the system has become simple and easy to use.

Remarks by Rev. Mutsuji Yamaoka, Cheif of Publication and Public Relations department

“The postingjoy, which is characterized by only joyous comments about one’s daily life is an SNS unlike any other among the about 230 million sites world-wide. I believe that the addition of English and Portuguese versions means that a platform has been put in place for disseminating to the entire world the Sundial Way of Life, which helps to practice in a simple way the essence of the teaching from the time of Seicho-No-Ie’s birth. This enables people in countries/regions with no Seicho-No-Ie organizations to register. Also the automatic translation function promotes the communications among Japanese-, English- and Portuguese-speaking members. It is hence expected to further the growth of the International Peace by Faith Movement. I hope that all members will participate in the postingjoy.”
