Seicho-No-Ie Brazil Missionary Headquarters Participates in The Sao Paulo International Book Fair

In Sao Paulo, Brazil, the 22nd Sao Paulo International Book Fair was held at the Anihembi Convention Center in Sao Paulo from August 12 to 22. The Seicho-No-Ie Brazil Missionary Headquarters participated in the Fair and introduced Seicho-No-Ie’s teachings and books to visitors.

This was one of the largest of its kind in the world. There were 350 booths and the number of visitors totaled 743,000.

This Fair was the eighth time that the Brazil Missionary Headquarters had participated in the Fair. During the 11-day Fair, at the Seicho-No-Ie booth a different theme was set for each day, such as “Natural Environment” and “Prosperity,” and various programs were offered with imagination and ingenuity, including a short lecture along the day’s theme, story telling for children, a puppet play and demonstration of laughing practice to advertise Seicho-No-Ie.

Seicho-No-Ie books and other publications sold at the Fair totaled 6,244 copies of books, Words of Light (Portuguese) and CDs; about 15,000 copies of Monthly Magazines; and about 10,000 copies of Monthly Magazines for Children.

A Seicho-No-Ie member, who visited the Fair commented, “The presentation at the booth, including a short lecture and laughing practice, was wonderful. Especially, I found story telling for children and puppet play appealing. I would like to visit the Fair next time, too.”

REMARKS BY REV. YOSHIO MUKAI, BISHOP OF SEICHO-NO-IE BRAZIL

“Each time the staff comes up with a new idea and we incorporate it in the Fair. The Fair is an excellent opportunity to advertise Seicho-No-Ie publications. We receive comments from the members who visit the Fair about how proud they feel to see Seicho-No-Ie books on exhibit. Especially, this year we had a short lecture and laughing practice every day. I believe that this was a great improvement over the previous ones.”
