Republic of Korea Leaders' Workshop held under the theme, "The Faith Attitude of Bing United As One through the Teaching Given by the President and Vice President"
The 20th Republic of Korea Leaders’ Workshop was held at the Kwang Myong Hoy Hall in Daegu on March 14. The number of attendees was 50.
The theme of the Workshop included, “On the Faith Attitude of Being United as One through the Teaching Given by the President and Vice President” and “To Realize the ‘Movement That Grows with Nature.’”
Rev. Teruo Nishitani (Assistant Minister, Chief of Asia, Europe and Oceania Section, International Department) was dispatched from the International Headquarters as a lecturer. Using Shinko ni yoru Heiwa no Michi (Realizing Peace by Faith) by Rev. Masanobu Taniguchi and other publications, he lectured through the interpretation of Rev. Jeong Ho Kim (Assistant Minister, Vice Chairman of Kwang Myong Hoy).
The first workshop was held under the theme, “On the Faith Attitude of Being United as One through the Teaching Given by the President and Vice President” and included an explanation of the “Succession of Seicho-No-Ie Presidency” and “Face to Face Transmission.” He also explained the teaching, “The Lord of Seicho-No-Ie—President/Vice President—the teaching.”
The theme of the second workshop was “To Realize the ‘Movement That Grows with Nature.’” Based on the 2010 Movement Policy, it was emphasized that Seicho-No-Ie is not an environmental movement but a faith movement, a movement to spread the way of life for believers to live. In order to materialize this, the attendees were urged to deepen the faith in only goodness and practice the three important religious practices.
In the third workshop there was a Q&A session. Since the workshop was open to leaders only, the attendees asked the kind of questions which only leaders would ask, such as, “We are taught that the Truth should be put at the center, but specifically what does it mean?” “What are the actual means to increase the membership?”
Comments received from the attendees included: “I was able to understand the importance of the Being United as One through the Teaching Given by the President and Vice President”; and “I was able to understand what it means to live with nature.”
Rev. Nishitani commented, “The theme about the Being United as One through the Teaching Given by the President and Vice President was chosen in response to the request from Rev. Jeong Hee Kim, Chairman of Kwang Myong Hoy. I believe that the attendees deepened their understanding of the teaching and that they gained a common awareness about Seicho-No-Ie activities. I would like to stay in close contact with Kwang Myong Hoy from now on and be responsive to their needs.

“Although the theme of the Workshop was difficult, the attendees listened with great interest and actively asked questions. In making the preparations for the Workshop, we had the help of Rev. Yukishima (Chief of International Department) and Rev. Nishitani (Chief of Asia, Europe and Oceania Section of the same Department). Thanks to them, we received the intended results from the Workshop. I would like to extend my gratitude to them.”
