Europe Leaders' Workshop Held in Germany

Study of the Seicho-No-Ie Teaching and Movement

The 20th Europe Leaders’ Workshop was held at a youth hostel in Neustatt, Germany from March 26 to 28. Forty-four leaders from across Europe studied the Truth.

The breakdown of the attendees by country of residence was 22 for Germany, 13 for England, 5 for France, 3 for Switzerland, and 1 for Austria.

Rev. Shoji Tsujita (Ordained Minister, Chief of Lecturers Section, Missionary Affairs and Lecturers Department) was dispatched from the International Headquarters as a lecturer for a second consecutive year. He lectured together with Rev. Yuji Otsuka (Ordained Minister stationed in Europe). They lectured with German and Portuguese interpretation.

Rev. Tsujita gave four lectures, including “Deepen the Faith in the God of Only Goodness—the Essence of the Philosophy, Only God Is the True Image.” Based on the lectures which he gave last year, he explained the fundamental teachings of Seicho-No-Ie, as well as the similarities between Seicho-No-Ie and Islam and the Significance of the Holy Mission Fellowship.

Rev. Otsuka gave two lectures: “The Sun Always Shines—the Sundial Way of Life That Realizes the True Image” and “The Mission of Seicho-No-Ie Regional Lectures/Propagators.” His guidance also included Shinsokan for Mutual Prayer. He talked about the sundial way of life, or a positive way of life and explained the 2010 Movement Policy, which has been translated into different languages.

During the workshop held on the second day titled “Offer Gratitude for God’s Blessings amid Nature,” the attendees took a walk to an old castle and other sites in the city. The program of the Workshop also included questions and answers about the teachings and reports on activities from five European countries.

Comments received from the attendees included, “I was able to understand Seicho-No-Ie’s philosophy from a scientific point of view.”

Rev. Tsujita commented, “Each time I hear many positive and forward-looking opinions from the leaders at the management committee. I sense that the support system in Europe is improving every year.”

Rev. Otsuka commented, “Opening an office in Frankfurt last year helped us to hold an excellent workshop from the aspect of preparation and management. I would like to do my best to expand the Movement by using the Postingjoy and Face Book on the Website and developing Regional Lecturers and other leaders.”

According to Rev. Otsuka, one aim of this Workshop was to achieve Carbon Zero by offsetting the CO2 emissions from the movement of the attendees. In the future, all International Headquarters-sponsored events in Europe will aim at Carbon Zero.
