Number of Attendees Totals 1,113

From March 11 to 29, a Special Lecture and Regional Lecturers/Enlightenment Leaders/Leaders Workshop were held in the Spanish language in 12 Latin American and Southern European countries. The number of attendees totaled 1,113.

The events were held in Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Columbia, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay, Venezuela, Mexico, Spain and Portugal. In all the countries, the Lecture took place on Friday and the Workshop was held on Saturday and Sunday. The number of attendees was 690 for the Lecture and 423 for the Workshop.

The lecturers were Rev. Yoshio Mukai (Ordained Minister, Bishop of Seicho-No-Ie Latin America), Rev. Junji Miyaura (Ordained Minister, Vice Chairman of the Brazil Missionary Headquarters), Rev. Sinji Takahashi (Ordained Minister, Director of the Brazil Missionary Headquarters) and six Assistant Ministers.

According to the Brazil Missionary Headquarters, from last year to this year, a Spanish version of Jinsei o Shihaisuru Senzokuyo (Ancestor Memorial Service that Controls One’s Life) and Seikatsu Dokuhon (Life’s Reader) by Rev. Masaharu Taniguchi were published. Both the Lecture and Workshop used these books as texts and were held under the theme, “Let’s Live Cheerfully.”

The program at the Lecture included two lectures and testimonial presentations on Ancestor Memorial Service. The Workshop offered 11 lectures for lecturers and leaders, such as “How to Conduct Individual Counseling Correctly,” questions and answers and a workshop by group. The attendees studied the “Being united as one through the teaching by the President” and Buddha’s Four Immeasurable Minds.

A female Workshop attendee from Columbia commented, “I have awakened to the Truth and studied about the importance of ancestor and parents.” A male attendee said, “It was a wonderful Workshop filled with confidence and love.”

REMARKS BY REV. YOSHIO MUKAI, BISHOP OF SEICHO-NO-IE LATIN AMERICA

“Compared with Brazil, the gap in the level of the Movement in other Latin American countries is great. However, the attendees have deepened their awareness as leaders through the past Workshops. Hence, the number of attendees was the greatest in three years. Because of the difference in country and culture, we cannot have a uniform Movement, but we emphasized that they carry out the Movement by putting the teachings at the center.”
