Readers' Meeting and Parent' Study Class held in Hong Kong

Attendees Urged to Practice the Sundial Way of Life

In Hong Kong, four events were held on Kowloon from September 11 to 13: Chinese-language Readers’ Meeting, Japanese-language Readers’ Meeting, Parents’ Study Class and Sunday Readers’ Meeting. The number of attendees totaled 52, including 4 newcomers.

Rev. Mamoru Amachi (Assistant Minister, Asia, Europe and Oceania Section, International Department), who can guide in Chinese, was dispatched from the International Headquarters as a lecturer. He focused his guidance on the practice of the three important religious practices and the sundial way of life. This was the second time that Rev. Amachi had guided after last March’s Leaders’ Workshop.

Rev. Amachi lectured on the theme, “Way to Harmony Between Husband and Wife” at September 11’s Chinese-language Readers’ Meeting and September 12’s Japanese-language Readers’ Meeting. He talked about gratitude to parents, visualization of the True Image, and the importance of worship between husband and wife. He also showed pictures of Readers’ Meetings in different parts of the world on the screen. On both days, there was Shinsokan for Mutual Prayer at the end to help the attendees experience the faith-based life.

On September 13, Parents’ Study Class and Sunday Readers’ Meeting were held. Rev. Amachi called upon the attendees to practice the sundial way of life by using good words and practicing the three important religious practices.

Comments received from the attendees included: “I was able to get a clear answer as to how husband and wife should be”; and “I would like to deepen my faith by practicing the three important religious practices.”

Rev. Amachi visited the followers’ homes between events and met with the leaders of the Hong Kong corporation to exchange opinions. He made suggestions as to how to develop activities in Hong Kong, such as the establishment of a group to plan activities for expansion.

Rev. Amachi remarked, “Religious practices held at the end of each event, such as Shinsokan for Mutual Prayer, were well received. I would like to continue to provide support to energize the Readers’ Meetings and help Regional Lecturers’ Examination applicants, so that the Movement in Hong Kong will grow.”
