National Leaders' Workshop held in the Republic of China on the Theme of Seicho-No-Ie Presidency Succession and Carbon Zero

The Fourth Republic of China National Leaders’ Workshop was held from October 17 to 18, 2009 in Nantou, the Republic of China (Taiwan). The number of attendees was 84.

The Workshop is held by Seicho-No-Ie Republic of China for Regional Lecturers and Propagators with the objective that they study the Truth and gain a common awareness about the Movement. They studied the significance of Seicho-No-Ie Presidency Succession and being united as one through the teaching given by the President and the Vice President, following the new President’s succession to Presidency in this year. Since the Republic of China Missionary Headquarters is aiming to acquire ISO14001 certification by 2011, the study included the understanding of the Carbon Zero Movement and how to energize Readers’ Meetings.

Rev. Shoji Tsujita (Ordained Minister, Chief of Lecturers Affairs Section, Missionary Activities and Lecturers Department) was dispatched as a lecturer for the second consecutive time. He provided guidance together with Rev. Masanori Morita (Ordained Minister, Bishop of Seicho-No-Ie Republic of China). Both spoke with Chinese interpretation.

Rev. Tsujita used as his text the Chinese translation of Shinko ni yoru Heiwa no Michi (Realizing Peace by Faith) by Rev. Masanobu Taniguchi, which was published in 2009, and other publications. He gave four lectures: “What Is Peace by Faith?” “Let’s Reconfirm the Significance of the Seicho-No-Ie Presidency Succession,” “What Is the Attitude of the Faith that Is Being United As One Through the Teaching Given By the President and the Vice President?” and “On the Carbon Zero Movement.” He talked in an easy-to-understand manner, using power point images. Rev. Morita gave two lectures: “What Is to Be Studied at This Workshop?” and “Study on the Fundamental Attitude in Propagation.”

This is the second year of the Republic of China’s “Five-Year Plan to Double Holy Mission Fellowship Membership. The Holy Mission Fellowship membership has increased to 4,359 from 2,974 of seven years ago. The goal is to increase it to 6,000 in the coming years. In order to help the members understand the significance of the Holy Mission Fellowship, a plan was announced to hold a Holy Mission Fellowship Gratitude Ceremony in each area.

Comments from the attendees included: “I would like to increase the number of new members through propagation activities centered around the Readers Meetings”; “I was able to study the Truth more deeply, so that I felt more confident and encouraged to propagate.”

REMARKS BY REV. MASANORI MORITA, BISHOP OF SEICHO-NO-IE REPUBLIC OF CHINA

“In Taiwan, people take more interest in the International Peace by Faith Movement after the publication of Realizing Peace by Faith. I am glad that we could take this opportunity to hold the Workshop, using that book as a text. I hope to continue to develop the leaders by increasing Chinese-language study materials that help them with their study.”
