Leaders' Workshop and Public Lecture held in Northern California

Study of Coexistence between Nature and Man As Well As World Peace

The Northern California Missionary Area’s Leaders’ Workshop (Japanese and English) and Public Lecture (English) were held from October 3 to 4 at the Seicho-No-Ie Northern California Center in San Jose, California. The number of attendees totaled 117, which included 20 at the Leaders’ Workshop and 97 at the Public Lecture.

According to the Northern California Missionary Area, the Leaders Workshop held on October 3 emphasized, based on the 2009 U.S. Movement Policy, (1) gratitude to all the living and worship of the indwelling God-nature and Buddha-nature, (2) and promotion of “A Movement that Grows with Nature” and practice of deeds of love to many people, using wisdom and imagination. It was guided by Rev. Yoshiko Teshigawara (Ordained Minister, Bishop of the United States Missionary Headquarters) and Rev. Masayo Tsuruta (Ordained Minister, Chief of Northern California Missionary Area).

Rev. Teshigawara gave two lectures, including “The Mission of the Leaders, Who Practice the Holy Mission.” Using as her text Seimei no Jisso (Truth of Life), Vol. 1 by Rev. Masaharu Taniguchi, she lectured on the leaders’ mission to propagate and also the way to world peace that is taught in the Divine Message of Grand Harmony. Rev. Tsuruta gave two lectures, including “A Wonderful Life, Universe, and Nature and Myself.”

The theme of the Public Lecture held on October 4 was “For a Bright Future.” There were lectures by Reverends Teshigawara and Tsuruta. Rev. Teshigawara stressed that religious life is to live according to the law of life’s manifestation. Rev. Tsuruta’s lecture dealt with the fact that man is sustained by the universe’s grand life. There were also testimonial presentations by members, guitar performance by a musician who is also a member, and prayer for world peace.

Comments from the attendees included: “I would like to encourage people around me to live a life that is friendly to the earth” (Leaders’ Workshop); and “I am grateful for the moving lectures, which touched my soul.” (Public Lecture)

REMARKS BY REV. MASAYO TSURUTA, CHIEF OF NORTHERN CALIFORNIA MISSIONARY AREA

"I was pleased that the attendees at both events were able to grasp the significance of guiding people around them to the Truth. I would like to make various plans to help the followers in my Missionary Area feel joy and mission as children of God in their daily lives and also expand the Movement.”
