Brazil Youth and Young Adult Association Leaders' Workshop Attracts 852 People


Theme of the Workshop "Seicho-No-Ie Youth and Young Adult Association in the 21st Century"

From mid-January to early February, a Brazil Youth and Young Adult Association Leaders’ Workshop was held at four spiritual training centers. The number of attendees totaled 852, which was an increase of 86 people over the previous time.

The breakdown of attendees by Seminar site was 533 for the South American Spiritual Training Center, 134 for the Santa Tecla Spiritual Training Center, 93 for the Curitiba Spiritual Training Center, and 92 for the Santa Fe Spiritual Training Center.

This Workshop was open to leaders of Youth and Young Adult only. The theme of the Workshop was “Seicho-No-Ie Youth and Young Adult Association in the 21st Century.” The study centered on religious practices such as Shinsokan Mediation and also covered the teachings, including being united as one through the teaching given by the President and the Vice President.

The lecturers included Rev. Marie Murakami (Ordained Minister, Chairperson of the Brazil Missionary Headquarters), Rev. Junji Miyaura (Ordained Minister, Vice Chairman of the Brazil Missionary Headquarters), Rev. Carlos Alberto da Silva (Assistant Minister, Chief of Youth and Young Adult Association), 3 Assistant Ministers and 12 Regional Lecturers/Enlightenment Leaders.

Rev. Alberto da Silva, who guided the Workshop in his capacity as the Chief of the Youth and Young Adult Association, used as his texts, Seimei no Jisso (Truth of Life), Vol. 13 and Seikatsu to Ningen no Saiken (Rebuilding of Daily Life and Humanity) by Rev. Masaharu Taniguchi, and Ai to Inori o Jitsugen suruniwa (To Realize Love and Prayer) by Rev. Seicho Taniguchi. He gave eight lectures, including “Being united as one through the teaching given by the President and the Vice President and Family,” “On the Three Important Religious Practices” and “Seicho-No-Ie Youth and Young Adult Association in the 21st Century.” With focus on the teaching that only God is the true existence, he talked about the wonderfulness of parental love, importance of gratitude and the power of words.

According to the Brazil Youth and Young Adult Association, the objective of the Workshop was to help deepen the leaders’ faith, build a strong organization, and develop successors. Special emphasis was placed to train all the leaders on the three important religious practices.

Joyous comments were received from the attendees, including: “This was an important event for the young leaders. I was moved from the bottom of my heart by the energetic lectures and the training on Shinsokan Meditation”; and “The event was filled with wisdom and love. I got a keen sense that we are walking on the right path.”
