Seicho-No-Ie Brazil Youth and Young Adult Association National Conventioon Attended by 7,104 People


The Theme of the Convention "The Flame Expands Beyond National Boundaries"

Prior to the Seicho-No-Ie Brazil National Convention, the 53rd Seicho-No-Ie Brazil Youth and Young Adult Association National Convention was held on September 20 at the same site (Ibirapuera Gymnasium) in Sao Paulo. The number of attendees was 7,104.

The Convention was held under the theme, “The Flame Expands Beyond National Boundaries.” It was held with the objectives that each attendee succeed the ideal of the forerunners, who laid the foundation for the Enlightenment Movement in Brazil, become a pioneer in the International Peace by Faith Movement in the 21st century and spread the flame of the Truth to the World.

There were six lectures on the Convention theme, including “Let’s Combine the Youth’s Force and Spread the Sundial Way of Life to the World,” “God Is the Source of All Wealth,” and “The Flame Expands Beyond National Boundaries.” The Convention was guided by Rev. Tatsufumi Yukishima (Ordained Minister, Chief of the International Department), who was dispatched from the International Department; Rev. Yoshio Mukai (Ordained Minister, Bishop of Seicho-No-Ie Latin America); Rev. Marie Murakami (Ordained Minister, Chairperson of the Brazil Missionary Headquarters); and Rev. Carlos Alberto da Silva (Assistant Minister, Chief of Brazil Youth and Young Adult Association).

According to the Brazil Missionary Headquarters, at the opening of the Convention there was a reading of a congratulatory messages for the centennial of Japanese immigration from the President of Brazil, and Rev. Michihiro Tanaka, Chief of the Youth and Young Adult Association in Japan. Moreover, Rev. Yukishima’s lecture on “The Sundial Way of Life” left a deep impression on the attendees.

The Convention program also included testimonial presentations by the attendees; a period to praise the late Miyoshi Matsuda, the first Bishop of Seicho-No-Ie Brazil, who laid the foundation for the Movement in Brazil; and performances. In order to raise awareness about environmental protection, multiple rubbish collection corners were set up in the Convention hall and about 40 members of the Association advised attendees on how to use the garbage cans, which were color-coded in five colors.

There were 279 attendees from 12 Latin American countries, which made the attendees realize how widely the International Peace by Faith Movement has spread.

Comments from the attendees included: “I was deeply moved by this great event”; and “I was able to understand the true joy of working for the International Peace by Faith Movement.”
