The VIce President's Guidance at the 2008 Seicho-No-Ie Special Conference
On July 12 to 13 the 2008 Seicho-No-Ie Special Conference, guided by the Vice President of Seicho-No-Ie, Rev. Masanobu Taniguchi, was held at the Seicho-No-Ie Headquarters Spiritual Training Center (Chofu City, Tokyo). Two hundred twenty-eight Ordained and Assistant Ministers attended the Conference. It was the fifth Special Conference held in Japan. The most recent Special Conference in Japan was in 2006.
The theme of this year’s Conference was “Learning the Tolerance of Islam.” Rev. Taniguchi, delivered the concluding lecture on the 13th and on the 12th Mrs. Junko Taniguchi, Vice President of the White Dove Association, spoke. On both days 3 Ordained Ministers presented papers: “Introduction to Islam,” “History of Islam” and “Islam’s Rationality.” On the 12th, Professor Yasuko Kobayashi of the Asian Studies of the Faculty of Foreign Languages of Nanzan University was invited to speak on Islam in Indonesia.
