PORTUGUESE TRANSLATION OF "HIBI NO INORI" (DAILY PRAYERS) PUBLISHED
Keen Interest in "Prayer" in Brazil
The Portuguese translation of the Hibi no Inori—Kami, Shizen, Ningen no Chowa o Inoru (Daily Prayers—Prayers for Grand Harmony of God, Nature and Man) by Rev. Masanobu Taniguchi, Vice President of Seicho-No-Ie, has been recently published by the Brazil Missionary Headquarters under the title, Oracoes Diarias: Pela Grande Harmonia entre Deus, a Natureza e o Ser Humano.
This cloth-bound looking book has an earth-yellow cover and dark brown backbone. The title and the author’s name are in gold, which gives a high quality look. Its size is the same as the Japanese book.
In Brazil, from the time Rev. Taniguchi started to announce these prayers in his blog, Random Thoughts, they were translated into Portuguese one by one and included every month in Brazil’s monthly magazine. Last year, when the prayers were compiled and published in a book form in Japanese, there was a strong request from the members that a Portuguese translation of the book be published soon.
Brazilians take prayers very seriously, so that books on prayers such as Dr. Masaharu Taniguchi’s book, Seikyo Shinri no Ginsho (Holy Sutra, Recitations on the Truth) are widely read.
