In Brazil, a Young Women’s Divinity Development Spiritual Training Seminar was held from March 21 to 23 at the South American Spiritual Training Center in Ibiuna, Sao Paulo. The number of participants was 458, an increase of 40 people from last year.

The Seminar was held under the theme, “The True Power to Enlighten the World—Love.” The lecturers were Rev. Marie Murakami (Ordained Minister, Chairman of the Brazil Missionary Headquarters), Rev. Leonor Ichikawa (Assistant Minister, Chief of Brazil White Dove Association), Rev. Carlos Alberto da Silva (Assistant Minister, Chief of Brazil Youth and Young Adult Association), and other Assistant Ministers and Regional Lecturers.

Using as her texts Seimei no Jisso (Truth of Life), Vol. 29 and Renai Bosei, Kekkon (Romantic Love, Motherhood and Marriage) by Dr. Masaharu Taniguchi and other publications, Rev. Murakami gave five lectures, including “The Fundamental Principle of Harmony at Home” and “One Who Lives Love Is Certain to Win.” She stressed that love is man’s mission and that love bears fruit through warm approach.

Rev. Ichikawa’s lectures included “Beauty Already Exists” and “Explanation and Practice of Shinsokan.” Rev. Carlos Alberto da Silva lectured under the title, “Parents’ Voice is God’s Voice.”

There was also a Q&A session, where the participants separated into three groups by age: 15 to 19 year olds, 20 to 24 year olds and 25 years old and over. Questions unique to women were asked, such as women’s attractiveness, soul’s better-half and the problem of sex. More than 180 people requested individual counseling and were guided by Reverends Murakami and Ichikawa and others.

On the evening of March 22, the day before Easter, Rev. Murakami, Rev. Ichikawa, Miss Camile Costa Rocha (Head of the Women’s Department, Brazil Youth and Young Adult Association) went to each participant’s room and handed out, with words of blessing, a cosmetics set donated by a businessman follower and cookies prepared by the Spiritual Training Center. There were bursts of joy in many places.

Joyous comments from the participants included: “Through the encounter with wonderful people, I found my true self”; and “The atmosphere of harmony filled every corner of the Spiritual Training Center.”

Remarks by Rev. Marie Murakami,

Chairperson of the Brazil Missionary Headquarters

“We are taught that if the woman is happy, her entire family becomes happy. As I saw many young women listen to the lectures earnestly and glowing, I believed that they would make their families happy and contribute greatly to building a happy Brazil. I reaffirmed the wonderfulness of this Seminar.”
