SPRING MEMORIAL SERVICE SOLEMNLY HELD

On March 20, spring equinox day, the Spring Memorial Service for Deceased Distinguished Propagators was held at the International Headquarters in Harajuku, Tokyo. Rev. Masanobu Taniguchi, Vice President of Seicho-No-Ie, served as the Chief Priest. Mrs. Junko Taniguchi, Vice President of the White Dove Association, was also present. The souls of 243 people, who dedicated their lives to the Seicho-No-Ie Movement, were newly memorialized.

In his message Rev. Taniguchi introduced the private life of the late Matsuo Kiyoto, formerly a “Choro” (Seicho-No-Ie Elder), one of the newly memorialized, saying that he had hobbies of seeing action movies and going to coffee shops to read. He said with deep emotion that a human being’s personality is so diverse that it cannot be fully expressed during his lifetime and that he can try to make use of it in his next life.

In concluding his message Rev. Taniguchi introduced the fact that today there are scientists who maintain the deathlessness of human life and urged the attendees to spread to many people the message that man’s life never dies.

The Memorial Service was attended by about 300 people, including Seicho-No-Ie Missionary Councilors and the families of the deceased. The number of the souls memorialized since the founding of Seicho-No-Ie totals 11,137.
