From the International Headquarters Rev. Toshiko May (Ordained Minister, Acting Chief of North American Section of the International Department) was dispatched to Vancouver and Rev. Bruce Mallery (Ordained Minister, Chief of New York Missionary Area) was dispatched to Toronto. They provided guidance together with Rev. Toshiro Kobayashi (Ordained Minister stationed in Canada, Chief of Toronto Missionary Area).

In Vancouver, a Leaders’ Workshop was held on October 20 at the Seicho-No-Ie Vancouver Center (16 attendees). A One-Day Truth Realization Seminar (38 attendees) and a Study Class in Japanese (21 attendees) were held on October 21. The number of attendees totaled 75.

In Toronto, a Leaders’ Workshop was held on November 3 at the Seicho-No-Ie Toronto Center (15 attendees), and on November 4 a one-day truth realization seminar (48 attendees) was held. The number of attendees totaled 63.

At the Leaders’ Workshop, Reverends May and Mallery explained Islam’s tolerance and all embracing nature as well as the similarities between Seicho-No-Ie and Islam based on the content of the August 2007 Seicho-No-Ie Special Conference. They said that the teaching that all religions emanate from one universal God is the key to world peace. They also tried to develop and improve the leaders’ propagation skills.

At the One-Day Truth Realization Seminar, both lecturers lectured under the theme, “Right into realization that you are a Child of God” and “Let’s Propagate the Teaching of all living things are One in God.” They called for that the sundial way of life and the faith in the God of only goodness are the way to realize world peace. Rev. Kobayashi guided the practice of Shinsokan and chanting “My True Image is Perfect and Hormonious”

Rev. May remarked,

“This was the second time to be dispatched to Vancouver after last year, so that I was able to guide the events in a warm family-like atmosphere. In Vancouver, enthusiasm was born to positively move forward to succeed the will of the late Nana Ishii, former President of Seicho-No-Ie [Canada].”

Rev. Kobayashi commented,

“In both areas, the leaders cooperated in actively promoting and managing the events and produced a good result. I would like to build on it and strengthen the future Movement.”
