THE REPUBLIC OF KOREA’S 49TH SPIRITUAL TRAINING SEMINAR ATTRACTS 230 PARTICIPANTS

Emphasis on Study as well as Practice of the Truth

In the Republic of Korea, the 49th Spiritual Training Seminar was held from October 26 to 30 at the Kwang Myong Hoy Hall in Daegu. The number of participants was 232.

According to Rev. Jeong Hee Kim, Chairman of Kwang Myong Hoy, focus was placed on four themes: (1) move from the level of knowing the truth to that of living the truth; (2) environmental protection as a way to practice the International Peace by Faith Movement; (3) expansion of Readers’ Meetings; and (4) expansion of the Holy Mission Fellowship membership. At this Seminar particular emphasis was placed on practicing the Seicho-No-Ie faith of worshiping life, and engaging in environmental protection in one’s daily life.

Attendees learned Worshipping Life
and Living the Truth

Rev. Jiro Hashimoto (Ordained Minister, Secretariat Section of the Chairman’s Office) was dispatched from the International Headquarters as a lecturer. The Seminar was also guided by Rev. Jeong Hee Kim (Assistant Minister, Chairman of Kwang Myong Hoy), Rev. Jeong Ho Kim (Assistant Minister, Vice Chairman of Kwang Myong Joy) and two Regional Lecturers.

Using as his texts the Korean translations of Seimei no Jisso (Truth of Life), Vol. 1 and Shinri (Truth), Vol. 2 by Dr. Masaharu Taniguchi and other publications, Rev. Hashimoto gave nine lectures, such as “To Live One’s Child-of-God Self” and “The World of Only Goodness.”

Rev. Hashimoto remarked, “In my lectures I tried to help the participants deepen their understanding of the teaching, man is a child of God and is originally sin-less as well as gratitude to one’s parents. I used power points and other techniques.”

Rev. Jeong Hee Kim gave two lectures entitled “To Change One’s Fate With the Mind” and “Bring the Truth Into Your Daily Life.” Rev. Jeong Ho Kim guided such programs as the Mind Purification Ceremony and Ancestor Memorial Service and Aborted Children’s Memorial Service.

Also during the Seminar, the participants experienced the Sundial Way of Life by entering words of gratitude in their Spiritual Training Diary after each day’s program. As practice of meat-less meals, vegetarian food has been served since last year’s 47th Spiritual Training Seminar. Many participants are gaining an understanding on this effort.

Rev. Jeong Hee Kim remarked,

“At the Seminar we emphasized that the truth must not only be known but it must be lived, and the staff had a thorough understanding of this as they managed the Seminar. Rev. Hashimoto taught the basic teachings and also explained in an easy-to-understand manner how Seicho-No-Ie’s remarkable way of life of worshiping life can save humanity and the world. Thanks to him, the Seminar turned out to be an excellent one.”
