The Leaders’ Workshop was held from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on October 20 with the objective of having the leaders gain a correct understanding of the content of August’s Seicho-No-Ie Special Conference for World Peace. The number of attendees was 30. Rev. Teshigawara lectured under the title, “World Peace and Our Mission” and said that the teaching, all religions emanate from one universal God, is the key to world peace. She stated that the Humanity Enlightenment Movement begun at the time of Seicho-No-Ie’s founding has been promoted since 1993 as the International Peace by Faith Movement in 29 countries world-wide in a uniform and systematic way. She introduced the electronic play created by Vice President of Seicho-No-Ie, Rev. Taniguchi, which is entitled Ao-kun to Midori-kun (the Blue and the Green, English version). She stressed the wonderfulness of a world which has diversity.

Rev. Mallery’s lecture was entitled “Similaries and Differences Between Judaism, Christianity and Seicho-No-Ie,” while Rev. Ando’s lecture was entitled “What Is Islam?”

The public lecture meeting was held on October 21 under the theme “Open the Doors of Your Life—Let’s Step into a Bright New World.” It was from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and drew about 100 people.

Rev. Teshigawara taught that the Sundial Way of Life, which looks at the bright side of life and is based on the fundamental awareness that “man is a child of God,” is the key to creating a bright life. Rev. Mallery lectured on the truth, only God-created perfect world exists and everything is a manifestation of the mind. Rev. Ando talked about the importance of faith-based life and environmental protection.

Comments received from the attendees included: “It was a wonderful event. I hope that this is held more often.”

Rev. Mallery remarked,

Chief of the New York Missionary Area

“The Leaders’ Workshop and lecture meeting are important events for the Missionary Area. To promote attendance we sent out direct mail and read the Holy Sutra, Nectarean Shower of Holy Doctrines so that many people will attend.”
