The 30th Ryugu Sumiyoshi Hongu Fall Festival was held on November 21 at the Seicho-No-Ie Main Temple in Nagasaki Prefecture. It was followed the next day by the ceremony to commemorate the birth of Dr. Masaharu Taniguchi and the succession to the Seicho-No-Ie Presidency.
The 12th Seicho-No-Ie Portuguese Spiritual Training Seminar sponsored by the Seicho-No-Ie Headquarters was held at the Seicho-No-Ie Uji Temple in Uji City, Kyoto from October 26 to 28. A record number of 570 people participated.
In northern California, a Leaders’ Workshop and a public lecture meeting were held from October 27 to 28 at the Northern California Seicho-No-Ie Center. The number of attendees was 31 for the Workshop, an increase of 7 people from last year; and 163 for the lecture meeting, an increase of 30 percent.
A Leaders’ Workshop and a public lecture meeting were held from October 20 to 21 at the Seicho-No-Ie New York Center in New York. The number of attendees totaled 130.
In Brazil, the Brazil Children’s National Convention (Portuguese) and the Children’s/Junior National Speech Contest (Japanese) were held from September 22 to 27. The National Children’s Convention took place at four sites, including the Auditorium of the Brazil Missionary Headquarters. The number of attendees totaled 1,710.
In the Republic of Korea, the 49th Spiritual Training Seminar was held from October 26 to 30 at the Kwang Myong Hoy Hall in Daegu. The number of participants was 232.
