FALL MEMORIAL SERVICE SOLEMNLY HELD

The Fall Memorial Service for Distinguished Propagators was held on September 23 at the International Headquarters in Harajuku, Tokyo. Rev. Masanobu Taniguchi, Vice President of Seicho-No-Ie, served as the Chief Priest. Mrs. Junko Taniguchi, Vice President of the White Dove Association, was also present. The souls of 238 persons, who had devoted themselves to the Humanity Enlightenment Movement during their lifetime, were newly memorialized.

Rev. Taniguchi gave his message at the end of the Service. Pointing out the fact that the temperature in the Kanto District on the previous day was 5-7 degrees (Centigrade) higher than normal, he said that global warming can be felt with a sense of reality in our actual life. Mentioning that it was the fall equinox day, he pointed to the need to have a sense of oneness with our ancestor, or the “upper stream,” and at the same time pass down life from them to our offspring with gratitude, who will be affected global warming. He concluded his message by calling upon the attendees to expand the Humanity Enlightenment Movement, which teaches that life is indestructible and that everything is one,

The Memorial Service was attended by about 330 people, including Seicho-No-Ie directors, officers of affiliated organizations and family members of the deceased. Mrs. Yasuko Tawara, the wife of the late Mr. Yasukuni Tawara of the Tokyo Missionary Area, No. 1 gave a message of appreciation. The number of souls memorialized since the founding of Seicho-No-Ie totals 10,894.
