In Brazil, the Lecturers and Enlightenment Leaders Devotional Labor Spiritual Training Seminar for Development of Inner Divinity was held at four spiritual training centers from June 7 to June 10. A total of 630 people participated and studied the teaching, “only God is the true Reality.”

According to the Lecturers Department of the Brazil Missionary Headquarters, which handled the Seminar, the objective of this Seminar was to grasp Seicho-No-Ie’s vertical truth, “only God is the true Reality,” through such practices as Shinsokan and devotional labor and to realize the truth that only goodness is the true existence.

The Seminar sites were: South American Spiritual Training Center in the Southeast of the country (387 participants), Santa Tecla Spiritual Training Center in the South (50 participants), Santa Fe Spiritual Training Center in the Northeast (134 participants), and Curitiba Spiritual Training Center in the South (59 participants). The lecturers were Rev. Marie Murakami (Ordained Minister, Vice Chairman of Brazil Missionary Headquarters), five Assistant Ministers and nine Regional Lecturers.

The texts used at all the sites were Portuguese translations of Shosetsu Shinsokan (Detailed Explanation of Shinsokan) by Rev. Masaharu Taniguchi, Tanoshiku Ikiru tameni (To live Happily) by Rev. Seicho Taniguchi and others. There were lectures, such as “Significance of Devotional Labor and Divine Message of Grand Harmony,” “Healing Through Shinsokan,” and “Everything—Mountains, Trees, Grass, Land—Is Buddha.” They studied the importance of environmental protection activity and the problem of meat eating based on Seicho-No-Ie’s teaching, “Everything is a manifestation of God’s life.” They also studied the significance of devotional labor and how to overcome bad karma as well as the method of sending healing thoughts from a distant place.

Comments of joy were received from the participants, such as, “As I recited words of gratitude to my parents during devotional labor, I became filled with joy”; and “I was moved by the kind and harmonious atmosphere of the participating lecturers.”

Remarks By Rev. Yoshio Mukai,

Bishop of Seicho-No-Ie Latin America

“A lecturers workshop is held twice a year at Seicho-No-Ie centers in different parts of the country with the objective of studying the teachings. A devotional labor spiritual training seminar is held once a year at four spiritual training centers to provide an opportunity for Regional Lecturers and Enlightenment Leaders to deepen communications through interchange with one another. From the participants’ comments, I feel that it has become an excellent place to study the teachings. I would like to continue promoting it so that many lecturers can participate.”
